Joseph Arthur – Exhausted(Live Acoustic)

I just downloaded this song and tried to figure this one out, he strums it really
fast so I tried my best to line it up. This is the live acoustic version. I hope
this works for you. Please leave good rating. Thanks!

Intro: E Cadd9 D Asus4 (x2)

Em Cadd9 Dsus Asus4
I never sleep
Em Cadd9 Dsus Asus4
I’ve been awake for what feels like a year
Em Cadd9 Dsus Asus4
Cause when I dream
Em Cadd9 Dsus Asus4
My mind puts a face to each one of my fears
Cadd9 (G)
I’m exhausted by my imagination

Em Cadd9 Dsus Asus4
I close my eyes
Em Cadd9 Dsus Asus4
But I could still see the pain on your face
Em Cadd9 Dsus Asus4
It’s your disguise
Em Cadd9 Dsus Asus4
You put your heart and soul on a plate
Cadd9 G
I’m exhausted by my imagination
Cadd9 G
These walls are talking but I’m hallucinating
Cadd9 G
Beneath the wheel I could not slow its rotation
Asus Cadd9 Asus Dsus
Down down down on my anger

  Em Cadd9
I got to get away from here
Dsus Asus4
But there’s nowhere I can go
Em Cadd9 Dsus Asus4
Everyone I recognize looks at me like I’m a ghost
Em Cadd9
Walking down these dire streets
  Dsus Asus4
I thought I heard you call my name
    Em Cadd9
But it was only in my mind
    Dsus Asus4
You were never there at

Em Cadd9 Dsus Asus4
all

Em Cadd9 Dsus Asus4
Up in the sky
Em Cadd9 Dsus Asus4
The clouds are dirty so soon it will rain
Em Cadd9 Dsus Asus4
I lost my mind
Em Cadd9 Dsus Asus4
After I found out that you went insane
Cadd9 G
I’m victim of my imagination
Cadd9 G
These walls are talking but I’m hallucinating
Cadd9 G
Beneath the wheel I could not slow its rotation
Asus Cadd9 Asus Dsus
Down down down on my anger

  Em Cadd9
I got to get away from here

I believe that in the album version, he plays the B string open, not on the third fret, but I may be wrong.

Nice chords!

This is a great song... And the chords too ! Nice work.

If I just may add a "add-on". It becomes more easy to play the chords if you use the right fingers (in this particular song) to each hord. In Em use finger 1 and 2. In Cadd9 keep the Em pressed down, and with Em still as a playing chord form the rest of Cadd9. Change to Dsus, play it. Then to change to Asus4, leave finger number 3 at the fretboard. Then form the rest of the Asus4 chord. Do exactly the same in the D Major to Asus4 change.

Good luck!
