[Verse]
A
I was the one who had it all
A D
I was the master of my fate
Bm F#m C#m F#m
I never needed anybody in my life
D A E
I learned the truth too late
A
I'll never shake away the pain
A D
I close my eyes but she's still there
Bm F#m C#m F#m
I let her steal into my melancholy heart
D A E
It's more than I can bear

[Chorus]
      D A
Now I know she'll never leave me
     D A
Even as she runs away
         D C#m
She will still torment me
Bm Dm
Calm me, hurt me
A E
Move me, come what may
D A
Wasting in my lonely tower
D Bm Dm
Waiting by an open door
F#m A
I'll fool myself, she'll walk right in
            E A
And be with me for evermore

[Verse]
C
I rage against the trials of love
C F
I curse the fading of the light
Dm Am Em Am
Though she's already flown so far beyond my reach
F C G
She's never out of sight

[Chorus]
      F C
Now I know she'll never leave me
     F C
Even as she fades from view
         F Em
She will still inspire me
Dm Fm C G
Be a part of everything I do
F C
Wasting in my lonely tower
F Dm Fm
Waiting by an open door
Am C
I'll fool myself, she'll walk right in
C Em Am
And as the long, long nights begin
Am Em C
I'll think of all that might have been
        Am G C
Waiting here for evermore

If you take this a half-step down, it sounds more like the origional. And just like that, everything is in tact!

agreed; that's the key of the movies version rather than Josh Groban's version, though the movie version was so much better imo
