About this tab version
This is mostly transcribed from acoustic versions on Youtube. You may want to use a G6 chord in place of the G in the verses. I'm a bit unsure about the lyrics in the third verse. Was this info helpful? Yes No

Capo on 2nd fret

C Fmaj7 G C Fmaj7 G

C Fmaj7 G
Get in the car up front with me
               C Fmaj7 G
Y'know there's nothing to do 'round here during the week
         C Fmaj7 G
So we're going to Memphis to get out of town
C Fmaj7 G
Going to Memphis to mess around

        C Fmaj G
I got a bottle of Thunderbird in the trunk
         C Fmaj G
I know a place if there's anything you want
         C Fmaj7 G
This old man runs the store, he'll sell anything to anyone
      C Fmaj7 G
But I don't know what time he closes up

Am Fmaj7 G C
So think about it, but, baby, don't take too much time
             Fmaj7 G C G
Maybe only a moment, maybe the time of your life

C Fmaj7 G
Well, boys might look rough but they're not tough between me and you
C Fmaj7 G
   Though they can be crude
C Fmaj7 G
Like the girl less thing's goin' on about
        C Fmaj7 G
He just said: "She's got a pretty mouth"

       C Fmaj7 G
So you see...
         C Fmaj7 G
What I'm dealing with
              C Fmaj7 G
And how's the old saying go?
                   C Fmaj7 G
"With friends like this..."

Am Fmaj7 G C
Don't worry we all gotta be back by morning time
             Fmaj7 G C G
Maybe only a moment, maybe the time of your life

C Fmaj7 G C Fmaj7 G
C Fmaj7 G C Fmaj7 G

Fmaj7 G C C
    Come on, baby, come on
          Am Fmaj7 G G
Ain't you ever stayed out all night long?

C Fmaj7 G
I know your brother he don't scare me
C Fmaj7 G
Why do we need to tell your momma anything?
C Fmaj7 G
If I'm bothering you let me know
C Fmaj7 G
But ain't we damn near grown?

Am Fmaj7 G C
Maybe it's Tuesday, maybe it's damn near midnight
             Fmaj7 G C C
Maybe only a moment, maybe the time of your life
             Fmaj7 G C
Maybe only a moment, maybe the time of your life

Really great job. Only little not I would add (the comments are a perfect place for this):

he rarely unmutes the high e string.
the Fmaj7 gets a regular hammer on the third fret for the B string making it a
the G is also more of a Gadd4{3 2 0 0 1 x} that sometimes becomes a G major in this shape {3 2 0 0 3 x}.

I could be wrong on all this.

Also, just so people don't freak out, he switches the lyrics around in some of the performances on youtube, especially the 3rd and 4th line of the first verse.
