Am Em
Once my life was plain and clear
         Am
I recall
                      Em
Once my ignorance was bliss
Am Em G
Nightfall came
Bb Am
Like a serpent’s kiss
Em Am
To my troubled mind

Dm Am
Why... Oh why my God
          Dm Am
Have you abandoned me in my sobriety
Dm Am
Behind the old façade
           Bb
I'm your bewildered child
     C Dm
So take me cross the river wide

Am Em Am
Binding promisses were made on my soul
                       Em
Grand illusions lead astray
Am Em G Bb Am
Ice cold winds swept my heart away
Em Am
Bring me back to you

Dm Am
Why... Oh why my God
          Dm Am
Have you abandoned me in my sobriety
Dm G
Behind the old façade
          Bb
I'm your bewildered child
    C Dm
So take me cross the river wide

-- Helena --
Dm
I remember a song
Am
Like in a dream
Dm
Where September was long
    Am
And winter unreal

Dm Am
Why... Oh why my God above
          Dm Am
Have you abandoned me in my sobriety
Dm G
Behind the old façade
             Bb
I'm your bewildered child
   C Dm
So take me cross the river wide

I have a youtube link of myself performing this for a demo if you would like to
hear it to clarify timing, fingerpicking and strumming patterns.

Thanks for the tab, was exactly what i was looking for. It would be nice if you specified that the tuning for the tab is d standard. Not a big deal though.

Very nice tab, thank you. To play it in the original tuning, I suggest transposing it down 2.5 steps (so the first chord is Em) and using a capo on 3. Also I think all the A#'s should be F's (in the non-transposed version). And the C (second to last chord in the chorus) should be an Am.
