Army Dreamers by Kate Bush
from the album Never for Ever, 1980
tabbed by patente101

Bm Em F#m

Bm Em
Our little army boy
   F#m A
Is coming home from b.f.p.o.
Bm Em
Ive a bunch of purple flowers
   F#m A
To decorate a mammys hero.

Bm Em
Mourning in the aerodrome,
    F#m A
The weather warmer, he is colder.
Bm Em
Four men in uniform
   F#m A
To carry home my little soldier.

What could he do?
E D
Should have been a rock star.
             F#m Bm
But he didnt have the money for a guitar
What could he do?
E D
Should have been a politician.
             F#m Bm
But he never had a proper education.
What could he do?
E D
Should have been a father.
             F#m Bm
But he never even made it to his twenties.
What a waste --
G Bm
Army dreamers.
G D6add9
Ooh, what a waste of
G Bm G
Army dreamers.

-> (chords as first verse) <-
Tears oer a tin box.
Oh, jesus christ, he wasnt to know,
Like a chicken with a fox,
He couldnt win the war with ego.

Give the kid the pick of pips,
And give him all your stripes and ribbons.
Now hes sitting in his hole,
He might as well have buttons and bows.

-> Chorus (as first) (ends on -224422-) <-

Of course, if you want it to sound like the real thing, you will have to handpick the
but it is not too hard to figure out.

Also, the part after the second chorus is the same as verse, and when she repeats "Army
at the end of the second chorus, repeat G and Bm, and end on 224422.

The song goes on after the second chorus, but the chords are the same as in the verses.

Please leave constructive criticism, I am open to any modifications.

Very nice tabbing but I would make two changes - add an A to the end of each 2nd line in the verse and stick with F#m not F# for the chorus.
See what you think

Good tab.
I find it much easier to play this in Am with a capo at 2nd fret.

That chord at the end of the second chorus when Kate sings "Ooo" is a Bsus2.

The coda of "Doo'n'doo"s not shown, is the 4 chord sequence of the verses.
