    'Hello, Earth--------! Hello, Earth!'

I can blot you out, out of sight!
 Dm/F G
'Peek -a -boo! Peek -a -boo!', little Earth!

[Verse 2]
Am Dm/F G Am

And look up at the sky,
      Am F G

                   Am Em/G
...Just look at it go, just look at it go!

[Whispered coda]
*Tiefer ...tiefer ...irgendwo in der tiefe ...gibt es ein licht!

Go to sleep, ...little Earth!

[Translation of the German coda]
* Deep ...deep ...somewhere in the depth ...there is light!

The choral parts were inspired by the Georgian song 'Tsintskaro'
that Kate had heard used in the soundtrack for Werner Herzog's re-make
of the vampire movie 'Nosferatu'. Richard Hickox was the arranger Kate
used for 'Hello Earth', and for the choral sections, rather than use a
foreign language, Richard suggested using vocalisations that just
sounded like a language, and Kate liked the idea.
