************ FOR THE GOOD TIMES *************

written and performed by Kris Kristofferson.

[Verse 1]

                      G7 C
Don't look so sad, I know it's over.
                      G7 C
But life goes on, and this whole world will keep on turning.
                      F G7 C
Let just be glad we had some time to spend together.
                     F Dm G7
There's no need to watch the bridges that we're burning.

                  C G7
Lay your head upon my pillow.
Hold your warm and tender body close to mine.
                                                  F Dm
Hear the whisper of the raindrops blowin soft against the window
      G7 C
And make believe you love me one more time, for the good times.

[Verse 2]

                   G7 C
I'll get along, you'll find another
                     G7 C
And I'll be here if you should find you ever need me.
                     F G7 C
Don't say a word about tommorrow or forever
                       F Dm G7
There will be time enough for sadness when you leave me.

I'm still very much a beginner guitar player, but G7 and Dm don't sound right to me. I think it sounds better with D instead of G7 and Am instead of Dm. That's just my intuition, but this would make it a fairly straightforward G major chord progression.

The D at the end of the verses sounds nice when you spice it up with a bit of Dsus4, simply by hammering an lifting your pinky on the high e.

because of the country bassline, try the g7 as a bar chord insted of 320001 (low to high) try 353433. i bet that will help you and that c run is the same as a million beatles songs it makes the d minor sound right as well. funny how much it changes things even though its technically the same.

also consider the high g on that dsus4. thats why it sounds right ;)
