Kyuss uses standard C tuning, which means that the whole guitar is tuned down TWO FULL STEPS. Knowing this, how is it possible for the D string to become A# and the G string to become D# ???????? The tuning should be C,F,B,E,G,C. THERE ARE NO SHARPS IN THE TUNING!!!!!!!

Oh, and most importantly. If you'd tune the guitar C,F,B,E,G,C. You'd completley **** up the interval know as the perfect fourth, by wich the guitar is tuned. A standard power chord fingering (root, fifth and root octave) would sound off, because the octave wouldn't match the root.
C,F,A#,D#,G,C is the perfect fourth. It sounds just a little bit different on the 2nd & 3rd string. But everything is in place.

OK. Here's how it goes. When you tune down, you tune by going from pitch to pitch. Semitone to semitone. Some notes don't have a semitone between them. B & C and E & F. So when you tune down from lets aay E standard to C standard (wich is 4 semitones) you go like this (I'll just give you two examples). The 6th string: E > D# >D > C# > C. The 4th string: D > C# > C > B > A#.

You can also check it out here. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/C_tuning_(guitar)

I've played my share of kyuss and qotsa tunes back in the day and it does not sound like crap. This is the way it's supposed to sound.
I learned the tunning form guitar pro software. So I'm pretty sure the people writing the software know their theory (I never doubted it, I't made sense to might right from the start).
