[Intro]

C F

[Verse]

C F
Chasing down a wild fire,
                                          C F
Are you trying to make a cold liar out of me?
C F
You want to get high?
                                    C F
You overcome those desires before you come to me.

[Chorus]

Dm7 Em7/G (E7sus4)
I think your mama's kinda sad
Dm7 Em7/G (E7sus4)
And your papa's kinda mean
Dm7 Em7/G (E7sus4)
I can take that all away
Dm7 Em7/G
You can stop playing it out on me
C F (x2)
Meeee...

C F

[Verse]

C F
She keeps a pen behind her ear in case
                                               C F
she’s got something she really really needs to say
C F
She puts it in a notepad,
                             C F
she’s going to write a book someday

Dm7 Em7/G (E7sus4)
Of course the only part that I want to read
Dm7 Em7/G (E7sus4)
Is about her time spent with me
Dm7 Em7/G (E7sus4)
Wouldn't you die to know how you're seen
Dm7 Em7/G
Are you getting away with who you're trying to be
C F C F
Trying, trying to be

C F

C F C F
Of course there's things upon the earth that we must really try to defend
C F
A lonely beast, a kind heart,
                              C F
Or something weak and on trend

Dm7 Em7/G (E7sus4)
I'd do it all for her, for free
Dm7 Em7/G (E7sus4)
I need nothing back for me
Dm7 Em7/G (E7sus4)
There no sweeter deed may be
    Dm7 Em7/G
Than to love something enough to want to help it get free
C F (x2)
Freeeee...

E7
Is there something on hermind?
E9-
Something she needs to get by?
       Am F
Do you cry sometimes?
       Am F
Do you cry sometimes?

C - F

C F
You always say you love me most
                             C F
When I don't know I'm being seen
C F
Well maybe someday when God takes me away
                               C F
I'll understand what the fuck that means

[Chorus]

Dm7 Em7/G (E7sus4)
I just know your mama's kinda sad

I can take it all away

You can stop playing that shit out on me

Like I

Thanks.... or go from the Dm7 to an Em using the Dm shape but moved down 2 frets and then using your little finger on the off beats, this is how she does in some live sets.
