There is no strumming pattern for this song yet. and get +5 IQ
Capo 4
key of G# major
Be sure to accent the alternating bass notes occurring on the low E and A,
It bounces back and forth between those two.

Chords relative to capo

even the most shimmering rain
empties out the sky and comes to an end
we all know that the sun is king
           A E
there's no messing with our orbiting
   B E
so why is he standing in his own backyard?
D A E
crying at his falling down house of card?

did you see the ice in his eye?
did you see the dagger caught in his smile?
innocent as a summer flower
with a serpent coiled under his collar
so why is he standing in his own backyard?
crying at his falling down house of card?

The guitar solo follows the same chord structure as if going through the verse and chorus once.

Now, if you don't have a capo, which I can sympathize with, then here are the
actual names of those chords.

G# - C#

D# - G#

F# - C# - G#

I capo my tenor uke to first fret and transpose this to +3 as relative to capo play uke G, C, G, C. Then C, G and D G, F, C, G. I string my top G using a low bass string (octave 3 instead of 4) like a guitar. Simple strum pattern two downs only on the low G, then play all: Down, Down-Up, Up-Down-Up, and repeat. It took me six years to "discover" Laura Veirs work. Thanks in part to the recent tour she did with KD and Neko but also because Google Play Music now groups her work in with other artists I love (use to be I didn't get out much lol). Now I'm hooked. ~m
