BRING IT ON HOME!!!
The right way to play it...
STANDARD TUNING! (E A D G B e)

Make sure your guitar has two pickups (and a pickup switch), and the two
different pickups have their own volume and tune knob...

When you hear the so-called chucka muted notes, you're actually hearing the
overdub of Bonzo tapping his drumsticks together. You can hear it throughout
the 'rock' section of the song.

Then back to the riff, and back again to the verses, but there is an overdub
for the verses to you can hear on the end of the 2nd verses:
e|-12-|
B|-12-|
G|-12-|
D|-x--| You play this by flicking your pickup switch, pick first then flick.
A|-x--| Flick twice, from low-volume pickup to the high-volume pickup.
E|-x--| Listen to the song to hear the number of time to flick on rhythm.

Finally back to the riff, how to end the riff:
e|---------------------------|--------------------------|
B|---------------------------|----------------------2---|
G|-------------2b4-2-1-2-1---|-------------2b4-2-1--2---|
D|-----0h2-----------------2-|-----0h2--------------2---|
A|-0h2-----------------------|-0h2------------------0---|
E|---------0-----------------|---------0----------------|
and how to end the overdub:
e|-------------------------------------|--------------------------------------|
B|-------12-14----14b15-14-12-14-12----|-------12-14----14b15-14-12-14v-------|
G|-12-13-------13-------------------13-|-12-13-------13-----------------------|
D|-------------------------------------|---------------------------------h11/-|
A|-------------------------------------|--------------------------------------|
E|-------------------------------------|--------------------------------------|

[Ending] (Flip pickup back to pickup 1)
 Palm mute till...
e|--------------------------------------|
B|--------------------------------------|
G|--------------------------------------|
D|-4-4-6-6-4-4-6/4---2-2-4-4-2-2-4/2----|
A|-2-2-2-2-2-2-2---2-0-0-0-0-0-0-0---0--|
E|--------------------------------------|
then
e|-------------------------------------|
B|-------------------------------------|
G|-------------------------------------|
D|-------------------------------------|
A|-2-2-4-4-2-2------2--2-2-4-4-2---0h1-|
E|-0-0-0-0-0-0--3h4----0-0-0-0-0-4-----|
again
e|--------------------------------------|
B|--------------------------------------|
G|--------------------------------------|
D|-4-4-6-6-4-4-6/4---2-2-4-4-2-2-4/2----|
A|-2-2-2-2-2-2-2---2-0-0-0-0-0-0-0---0--|
E|--------------------------------------|
 finally [stop palm muting]
e|--------12-------12--------12---------------------|
B|------9----9--10----10--11----11--12/-------------|
G|------X-------X---------X---------X------------7^-|
D|------9-------10--------11--------12/------6^--6^-|
A|-------------------------------------------7^--7^-|
E|-0--------------------------------------0--0^-----|

THE END!

My favorite song of Led Zeppelin!

Great tab!!
Only 1 comment.
On the main riff, playing 2b4 is a tough bend so close to the nut. I can do it but it becomes painful after awhile.
Why not play 3b4, which sounds identical, but is a thousand time easier to play.

Awesome tab.

I like playing the main riff such that I hit the open b string with the 2b4 part. Also puts less pressure on you to reach the full bend.

Jimmy page plays 2h4 on th G string, actually. Its 0h2 (A) 0h2 (D) 0 (E) 2h4 (G) and then the rest...
