They got the Younger brothers
G
They got plenty of others
Fool enough to cower and crawl
Em D C ~ ~ G C-G
Shackled and chained behind high walls

They say I've made more widows and orphans
G
Enough to fill twenty coffins
They won't hear my side at all
Em D C ~ ~ G G-F
Guess they'll lock me away behind high walls
CHORUS:
F-C
If sixteen grains of morphine
C-G
Could just a-wipe the slate clean
F
Then you know I would take it all
F-C
But rotting in the state of Minnesota
C-G
Sweating on a chain gang road, ah
D
The hell, I cannot take that
INSTRUMENTAL: G C G Em D C ~ ~ G G-F
CHORUS:
F-C
If sixteen grains of morphine
C-G
Could just a-wipe the slate clean

But rotting in the state of Minnesota
C-G
Sweating on a chain gang road, ah
D
The hell, I cannot take that

Frank, they'll never catch us alive
G
Not with my will to survive
We'll run until they stumble and fall
Em D C ~ ~ G C ~ ~ G
I shall never spend a day behind high walls

C-G

Capo to fit your Voice.. I found I dont need it at all since I have a female Alto voice PS
I think..instead of "Yet they'll lock me away behind high walls"
it should be
"Just lock me away behind high walls"
