Love and Theft - Runaway
Capo: 2nd Fret

Intro - Bm - G - A = 2x's

(verse 1)
             Bm G A
It's been a long week, I've got a slow leak In my left front tire
             Bm G A
I'm sick of where I work, my boss is such a jerk Don't care if I get fired
           Bm G A
My back's about to break, no money in the bank And she don't call me anymore
        Em C
I'm down my last drink It's time to sell my things

(chorus)
     G Bm A G
And pack my bags and never look back Run a parallel line with the railroad tracks
    Bm A
And make my getaway
               G Bm
I'll put the pedal to the metal as the sun goes down
         A G
Leave everyone sleepin in this sleepy town tonight
Bm A Bm - G - A
And at the break of day, I'll be a runaway

(chorus)
             Bm G A
A hundred miles in, I've got a stupid grin On my scruffy face
             Bm G A
With every cigarette, I'm burnin my regret Don't wanna leave a trace
           Bm G A
And from my rear view, I've got a clear view Of who I used to be
        Em C
A little bit faster now Don't wanna turn around

(chorus)
     G Bm A G
And pack my bags and never look back Run a parallel line with the railroad tracks
    Bm A
And make my getaway
               G Bm
I'll put the pedal to the metal as the sun goes down
         A G
Leave everyone sleepin in this sleepy town tonight
Bm A Bm - G - A Bm - G - A
And at the break of day, I'll be a runaway I'll be a runaway

(bridge)
     Em D G
It's crazy, I know, to count on this road To give me what I need
          Em D G A
But with every state line, somehow I find Another part of me YEA

(Lead - Bm - G - A = 2x's)

(chorus)
           G Bm A G
I'm gonna pack my bags and never look back Run a parallel line with the railroad tracks
    Bm A
And make my getaway
               G Bm
I'll put the pedal to the metal as the sun goes down
         A G
Leave everyone sleepin in this sleepy town tonight
Bm A Bm - G - A Bm - G - A
And at the break of day, I'll be a runaway I'll be a runaway
              Bm - G - A
I'll be a runaway

I can find this antwhere on the internet. How about the solo or the intro. or the licks during the verse.

Little violin riff through the verse- can be played in open position or at 5th fret, which is what I've transcribed since you'll need to palm mute to get the pizzicatto (sp?) effect (relative to capo at 2). See comment below.

Also, the mandolin part through the chorus can be roughly duplicated by playing the top 4 strings of bar chords of Bm, G, and A.Catchy little tune.
