The original key is D minor, not E minor, so my corrections will be in both keys in parentheses( )for those who are interested. Every instance of b minor (am) should be B major (AM). I know that b minor (am) is diatonic to e minor, but B Major (AM) is definitely what is being used.

This way, the "punch" of the Leading Tone is more dramatic because of the half-step motion to the tonic, E (D), in stead of the whole-step motion provided by b minor (am). Or, more specifically, the song is using the Harmonic Minor in stead of the natural minor. What's strange is that while looking at your tabs, I saw that all of the arpeggios on what you call "b minor" actually outline B major already. Anyway, I'll give it to you in both keys and roman numerals for quick transposition.

This Key -
em CM BM em x4
em GM BM em
em GM BM BM
em CM BM em x2

Original Key -
dm BbM AM dm x4
dm FM AM dm
dm FM AM AM
dm BbM AM dm x2

Roman Numerals -
i VI V i x4
i III V i
i III V V
i VI V i x2

Another thing, the part that says "Send a sign; raise the sails; wave a last goodbye" (em GM BM em - original key) sounds pretty great when you use the Tonic (e) of Em, the Dominant of GM (d), the Mediant of BM (d#), and then the Tonic of Em (e) again as the bass notes in their respective sections. It not only reduces the amount of movement involved, but creates a nice alternative harmony for those looking to spice up the arrangement.
