Mastodon have been known to use that tuning, but why in gods name would they be in that tune if the dont even use the bottom string?

The majority of the first album, Remissions, is in that AGCFAD tuning. I just assumed they would us that tuning. Tune it to whatever you want. Whatever floats your boat.

This song's actually in DGCFAD, but yeah it doesn't really matter.
