[Verse]
C
It happens every time
                            Am F
If it counts I'll lose my courage when I need it the most
C
Then it comes crawling up after
           Am F
Begs me to ask her what I already know

[Chorus]
         Am G F C
Singing "Oh, love get me out of the cold"
       E Am F
If I promise that I take you there with me
           G F
Would you go, I found
        C E Am F
In one step I'll get closer to heaven than you'll ever know
          G
You may never know
C C Am F

[Verse]
C
Feeling out again
                      Am F
Go and try to be your man when there's a gun to your head
C Am F
After you've found out your good enough wasn't good enough for everyone else

[Chorus]
         Am G F C
Singing "Oh, love get me out of the cold"
          E Am F G
Hold me right by the fire and I'll show you what home means now
 C E Am
The words came with a new kind of sadness
               F G
They meant everything, you mean everything to me
C C Am F

[Verse]
C
I'll take the first train out of this town
         Am F C
With a glare in my eye and my pockets full, ready to die
                                       Am F
And when I get hazy I will think just maybe you're out there somewhere

[Chorus]
         Am G F C
Singing "Oh, love get me out of the cold"
       E Am F
If I promise that I take you there with me
           G F
Would you go, I found
        C E Am F
In one step I'll get closer to heaven than you'll ever know
          G
You may never know
         Am G F C
Singing "Oh, love get me out of the cold"
          E Am F G
Hold me right by the fire and I'll show you what home means now
F C E Am
The words came with a new kind of sadness
             F Ab C
They meant everything, you mean everything to me

Would you mute the unused strings for the chords in the introduction, or just leave them "open"?

@Lifesign
Follow the tablature for introduction, I typed the chords there for reference purpose (if you want to play it differently). In any case, I'd let the notes ring so yup you can leave them "open", whichever sounds nice to you.

Cheers.

I believe the chord at the end is not an Ab, but rather an F minor chord.
