When You See My Friends - Mayday Parade
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------|
Tabbed by: dlwhitaker
Email:dustinleewhitaker@gmail.com
Tuning: Standard Capo 1

Hey guys, this is my first tab ever, but I have
been playing guitar for awhile. I did this tab
for a friend, and I think I am the first to put
one up. But I basically just outlined the chords
in this song and I tabbed the acoustic part at
the end of the song. It's probably not spot on,
but it still sounds cool to me.I basically just
did this tab for those who just wanted to jam
along with this song acoustically, but if you
wanted the album version it's basically the same
just power chords instead of first position,
including some fill ins and licks in the background.
If you guys see any mistakes just e-mail me and
let me know! Thanks!!

[Intro]

C F C G (x2)

[Verse 1]

                       C F C G
I'm burned out like a bright light, I wasn't ready for this.
         C F C G
You're adorable as hell, but I'm glancing at your wrist.
                C F C G
Oh please have faith, I can be so cavalier.
               C F C G
And when they start to ask questions I'll make sure to be clear.

[Chorus]

                  F G
When you see my friends tell them hi for me.
                     C C/B Am
Tell them what you think about the way you handled everything.
     F G
You turned and all you left me with was this broken key.
                      C F C G (x2)
So tell me what you think.

[Verse 2]

                    C F C G
Give it up for the long nights and those terrible fights.
           C F C G
Were you honest with yourself, every version of yourself?
             C F C G
Did you get lost on the side of the road?
              C F C G
If you keep acting this way I swear I'll never come home.

[Chorus]

                  F G
When you see my friends tell them hi for me.
                     C C/B Am
Tell them what you think about the way you handled everything.
    F G
We walk alone on this broken road for eternity.
               C C/B Am
So give me company and help me sing this lonely melody.
      F G
You turned and all you left me with was this broken key.
              C F C G (x2)
So tell me what you think.

[Verse 3]

        C F C G
Sign me up, no regrets. Make a man out of me.
        C F C G
     C F
And I won't say a word and I'll give all the things that you want and I need
          C G
just to give me some peace.
         C F C G
At the bottom of the ocean there's a place for you and me.
          C F
Lead the way, straight ahead.
       C G C F
You gave me the time of my life
     C G C F C
and cut like a knife to the bone.

[Chorus]

                 F G
When you see my friends, tell them hi for me.
                    C C/B Am
Tell them what you think about the way you handled everything.

Not sure but i think it sounds better with the verse as:
Am, F, C, G,
Instead of the two C's

It didn't sound right at all to me, so I watched Derek play it on AP's youtube channel. Then I watched Brooks' video lesson on youtube as well and its actually a fairly easy song to learn. The tab version is "spot on". If you do well with tab and the video lesson is not hard either if you watch it. On youtube search "when you see my friends brooks betts" and it should come up. Good luck.
