Sound Of Sunshine - Michael Franti
This song isn't out yet, but he's been playing it live and it will be the cover
track of his next album called "Sound of Sunshine."
He plays it with simple strumming and it goes to a simple rhythm, there is an
equal amount of time from each chord to the next, that is why there may be one Bb
followed by another.
As for the actual chords, some of them are barre chords, so I will tell you which
one is which.
Bb barre 6th; F barre 8th; Eb barre 6th; Cm barre 3rd; Gm barre 3rd; the F in the
Bridge is a regular F barred on the 1st fret.

Intro:
Bb Bb F F Eb Cm Bb Bb

Verse:
Bb
I wake up in the morning at six o'clock
Bb
They say there may be rain, but the sun is hot
F
I wish I had some time just to kill today
F
And I wish I had a dime for every bill I got to pay
Eb
Some days you lose, you win
Cm
and the water's as high as the times you're in
Bb
So I jump back in where I learned to swim
Gm
Try to keep my head above it the best I can
Eb Eb Bb Gm
That's why, Here I am, just waiting for this storm to pass me by

Chorus:
               F Eb Bb Bb
And that's the sound of sunshine, coming down
               F Eb Bb Bb
And that's the sound of sunshine, coming down

F Eb Bb (stop)

Verse:
Bb Bb

F F
I opened up my hand he said, 'I'm glad to see, they can take away my job but not my friends,
Eb Cm Bb Gm
You see, Here I am, just waiting for this storm to pass me by

Gm
That's the sound of the sun goin down
Bb
When the people of the world start to paint the town
Gm
A day that's long is a day complete

This is so great you've already posted the tab for this song! But, I have never mastered barre chords and was wondering if you knew a version that didn't use them? Or a way to convert the chords? If you could help I'd really appreciate it! Thanks!

To avoid barre chords just transpose the song to start on A. I play this with capo on 1, starting on A.

These chords are spot-on correct.
