 Some Of Shelly's Blues

  (Michael Nesmith)
G Em C
Tell me, just one more time,
     D G Em
The reasons why you must leave.
C D G Em
Tell me once more why you're sure you don't need me.
C D G Em C D
Tell me again, but don't think that you'll convince me.
    G Em C D
Now you've said, before falling in love again
             G Em
You'd rather be dead.
             C D
'Cause when someone breaks your heart
             G Em
You cry your eyes red.
             C D G Em C D
But there's nothin' so hard about the life that you've lead
    C A D G
As far as I can see there's no reason for "goodbyes."
C A D
You're just running scared and that's something I won't buy.
   G Em
So you lose
  C D G Em
I won't let you go with nothing to show but more blues.
     C D G Em
And all this talk about leavin' is strictly bad news.
   C D G Em C D
So you settle down and stay with the man that loves you.
    C A D G
As far as I can see there's no reason for "goodbyes."
C A D

   G Em

  C D G Em

C D G Em C D G

Watching Nesmith play this many times on Youtube he always plays an A minor not a C during the verses. There is a C in there. Also on the chorus a simple A7 works well. There's another transition chord thrown in toward the end I believe it's B7. I'll try to put up a version if there's a need. This this great for Novice level, mine would be intermediate with bass walk downs etc.
