You need to add a C6 after you play your C chord it will sound better. If you play on the first 5 frets it is played like a AM then you add a C note with your pinky.
I would play the C on the 8th fret. Play it like a F chord then lay your pinky down on 2nd string 10th fret. Then you alternate between the two chords.
This is just a suggestion, you dont have to use it if u dont want to.
