Twelve Days of Christmas - John Denver and the Muppets
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Tabbed by: maguri
Tuning: Standard

A very nice arrangement from the TV special "A Christmas Together" with
John Denver and the Muppets (first aired in 1979).

The Muppets' version is in F, which is a little difficult to play (at
least for me ...), so I transposed it to G for this tab.
C and D are other keys that are easy to play; I included voicings for
the split chords in both keys, too.

Check out the song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8MX43ynMvm0
(To play along transpose this tab to D and put on a capo 3rd fret or
to C and use a capo 5th fret).

"Four colly birds" should be "Four calling birds"

Right, it does sound weird and I couldn't find it in my dictionary either. Still, my "Mother Goose's Nursery Rhymes" book has "colly". Maybe it has something to do with "coal"?

I stand corrected. Just did some reasearch and it looks like "Colly Birds" was indeed the original english line of the song (means "black birds"). "Calling Birds" came along at some point probably as an Americanisation or misinterpretation. My appologies.
