"Shrek - Who Id Be"
set tempo
2nd fret
Strum: DDU-UDU-

G C Am
I thought I'd be a hero, With sword and armour clashing
             D G
Looking semi dashing, A shield within my grip

                 C Am
Or else I'd be a Viking, live a life of daring

                      D G
While smelling like a herring, upon a Viking ship.

Em C G D
I'd sail away, I'd see the world, I'd reach the farthest reaches

Em C D
I'd feel the wind, I'd taste the salt and sea.

    G D C
And maybe storm some beaches.

                C G
That's who I'd be. That's who I'd be.

Em C G D
And Ogre always hides, an Ogre's fate is known

Em C D
And Ogre always stays in the dark and all alone

G C Am
So yes I'd be a hero and if my wish was granted

                 D G
My life would be enchanted, or so the stories say.
                      C Am
Of course I'd be a hero, and I would scale a tower

                      D G
And save a hot-house flower, and carry her away

              Em C D
But standing guard there'd be a beast, I'd somehow over whelm it,

Em C D G D C
I'd get the girl, I'd take my breath, and I'd remove my helmet.

              Em C D
We'd stand and stare, we'd speak of love, we'd feel the stars ascending

Em C D G D C
We'd share a kiss, I'd find my destiny, I'd have a hero's ending,
  G D C
a perfect happy ending.

That's how it would be

C G D
A big bright beautiful world

But not for me.

Lack of accuracy. Tab incomplete.

Capo should be on fret 6, standard tuning. A couple chords don't match the Broadway recording but that's okay. There is a second verse after "That's who I'd be, that's who I'd be" with the same chords as the first verse. After "An Ogre always stays in the dark and all alone", there is a key change. (fret 8 for capo?)

During the "But standing guard there'd be a beast", the chords are all off.

After 'But not for me' at the end, that isn't the end of the song. Sutton Foster (Princess Fiona) has a small verse as well, Daniel Breaker (Donkey) also comes in for the final chorus, all of which would be with yet another key change, which I can't figure out myself, then it goes back to the higher key, finishing with "A perfect happy ending, that's how it should be."
