[Intro]

F - Am - G - C - G
F - C - G (2x)

[Verse]

F Am G C
I've been gone for so long now
F C G
Chasing everything thats new
F Am G C
I've forgotten how I got here
F C G
I have not forgotten you
F Am G C
We were just children but our eyes opened and
F C G
You were all that i could see
F Am G C
You came close enough to know my heart beat but
F C G
Still not close enough for me

[Chorus]

F C
Through the good times and the bad
               G Am G
You were the best I never had
F C G
The only chance I wish I had to take
F C
But there was no writing on the wall
           G Am G
No warning signs to follow
F C G
I know now and I just can't forget, Youre the best I never had

(Repeat Intro x 1)
Nanana Mmmm

[Verse]

F Am
In this motel
G C G
Well passed midnight
F C G
When Im bluer than a bruise
F Am G C
You come drifting in through the half light
F C G
In your funny yellow shoes
F Am G C
And I hope thats you standing at my doorway
F C G
Thats the scratching of your key
F Am G C
And I hope this song Im singing, someday finds you
F C G
My letter to Elise

[Chorus]

F C
Through the good times and the bad
               G Am G
You were the best I never had
F C G
The only chance I wish I had to take
F C
But there was no writing on the wall
           G Am G
No warning signs to follow
F C G
I know now and I just can't forget, Youre the best I never had

Nana Nanana
