Miss Montreal - House Upon The Hill

This song sounds great on a steel string guitar with some palm muting on the strumming hand.
The original is played with a Capo on the 5th fret.

As for the left hand: this song sounds great with a lot of pull-off's and hammer-on's. The original is played
with two guitars but you can come pretty close with just one guitar.

[Intro]

G D Em7 Cmaj G D

[Verse 1]

G D Em7
From the house upon the hill
       Cmaj G
all is still
                  D
in this battle of wills
G D Em7
'Cause you don't know how I feel
                 Cmaj G
upon this ferris wheel
               D
This trip isn't real

[Chorus]
                G
And we'll never forget who we are
       D
Old tattoos, our battle scars
             Em
Still have a heart that sometimes breaks
             C
Still have a mind that lies awake
             G
Still end up six feet under ground
               D
Still the same world spinning 'round
           Em
I watch it all as I stand still
         C
from the house, the house upon the hill

G D Em7 Cmaj G D

[Verse 2]

G D Em7
Like a star upon a tree
                    Cmaj G
that's who we'll we be
              D
on new year's streets
G D Em7
When I fall I fall so hard
                       Cmaj G
like old good shooting stars
                  D
that make it this far

[Chorus]
                G
And we'll never forget who we are
       D
Old tattoos, our battle scars
             Em
Still have a heart that sometimes breaks
             C
Still have a mind that lies awake
             G
Still end up six feet under ground
               D
Still the same world spinning 'round
           Em
I watch it all as I stand still
         C
from the house, the house upon the hill

Em B7 Cadd9 G G/F#

Em B7 C G G/F#
Don't take it all away

No you can't take it all away
    Em B7 C G G/F#
The way I was is still my way

and it's not that long since yesterday
