[Verse]

D G D
If I had wings like Noah's dove
            Bm G2
I'd fly the river to the one that I love
D G D A D
Fare thee well, my honey, fare thee well

D G D
I had a man, who was long and tall
             Bm G2
He moved his body like a cannon ball
D G D A D
Fare thee well, my honey, fare thee well

D G D
I remember one evening in the pouring rain
          Bm G2
And in my heart there was an aching pain
D G D A D
Fare thee well, my honey, fare thee well

D G D
Muddy river runs muddy and wild
               Bm G2
You can't give a bloody for my unborn child
D G D A D
Fare thee well, my honey, fare thee well

D G D
Just as sure as the birds fly high above
                Bm G2
Life ain't worth living without the one you love
D G D A D
Fare thee well, my honey, fare thee well

Fare thee well, my honey, fare thee well

Is there a way to play this w/o re-tuning the guitar? :-/

Momro, you could just play the chords i've listed in standard tuning and it sounds right with the recording. You could also look up Oscar Isaac's version which is played in standard?

Ah, ok, I thought the chords also used the open D tuning

Thanks for clarifying :-)
