[Intro]

G

[Verse]

    G G/F# Em Em C G
You saw my pain, washed out in the rain
G G/F# Em Em C G
Broken glass, saw the blood run from my veins
         G G/F# Em Em C G
But you saw no fault no crack in my heart
G G/F# Em Em C G
And you kneel beside my hope torn apart

[Pre-Chorus]

       B7 Em B7 Em
But the ghosts that we knew will flicker from you
          G D G
And we’ll live a long life

[Chorus]

            C G D/F# G
So give me hope in the darkness that I will see the light
      C G D/F#
Cause oh that gave me such a fright
    Em D/F# C G
But I will hold as long as you like
     C D/F# Em C G Em D
Just promise me we’ll be alright

[Verse]

   G G/F# Em
So lead me back
Em C G
Turn south from that place
    G G/F# Em Em C G
And close my eyes from my recent disgrace
          G G/F# Em
Cause you know my call
Em C G
We’ll share my all
G G/F# Em C G
Now children come and they will hear me roar

[Chorus]

            C G D/F# G
So give me hope in the darkness that I will see the light
      C G D/F#
Cause oh that gave me such a fright
    Em D/F# C G
But I will hold as long as you like
     C D/F# Em C G Em D
Just promise me we’ll be alright

[Bridge]

    Em C G
But hold me still bury my heart on the cold
    Em C G
And hold me still bury my heart on the cold

[Chorus]

            C G D/F# G
So give me hope in the darkness that I will see the light
      C G D/F#
Cause oh that gave me such a fright
    Em D/F# C G
But I will hold as long as you like
     C D/F# G
Just promise me we’ll be alright

[Pre-chorus/Outro]

       B7 Em B7 Em
But the ghosts that we knew will flicker from you
          G D G
And we’ll live a long life

END!!! Cheers!

Hey all, it's me -- Matt (the guy who tabbed this)

If anyone is reading this plz know that I tabbed this based on the material I had before Mumford and Son's newest album release 'Babel'. I've tabbed most of this off of youtube videos of live performances.

For example, "I Will Wait" was introduced by the band as "Nothing Is Written" before it was mastered. They added lyrics and a new chorus.

Long story short, don't beat down my tab if the new album version is a little different.

Peace out!
-Matt

I think the G/F# should be Bm

^ I guess in a sense it could be. Although the reason I choose to tab the chords using a G/F# was because when Marcus sings the note right at the time the G/F# should be played, the note he sings is an F#. It could be a Bm although, in the context of playing this solo it sounds off to me using the Bm. With a full band it might blend in a bit so I wouldn't notice.

If I were teaching this to someone I might stick with the G/F# but I do 'hear' your point. XD
