[Intro]
Gm Dm/F Em7 Dm (x2)

[Verse]
Gm Dm/F Em7 Dm
Rip the earth in two with your mind
Gm Dm/F Em7 Dm
And seal the urge which ensues with brass wires
Gm Dm/F C Dm
I never meant you any harm
Gm Dm/F Em7 Dm
Your tears feel warm as they fall on my forearms

Bb Dm D/F# Gm
But close my eyes for a while
Bb Dm D/F# Gm
And force from the world a patient smile

Dm C Bb Gm F Gm Am F (x2)

Gm Dm/F Em7 Dm
How can you say that your truth is better than ours?
Gm Dm/F Em7 Dm
Shoulder to shoulder, now brother, we carry no arms
Gm Dm/F C Dm
And the blind man sleeps in the doorway his home
   Gm Dm/F Em7 Dm
If only I had an enemy bigger than my apathy I could have won

Lack of accuracy. in the verses E7 is clearly not fitting, it is more like G something but I'm not so sure what

Looked into it. The actual sheet music for the song indicates the chord as Em7. Completely accurate.

I thought so, too. But play the Em7 (you wrote major, I take it you meant minor?) not as it is recommended here on ultimate-guitar but from low to high as follows: 0-2-0 or 2-0-3-0 or 3
Important is the 3rd fret on the b string. It's still a standard Em7, but sounds way better here (obviously, just in my opinion) :)
