Musician: Nathaniel Rateliff
Song: You Should Have Seen The Other Guy

(For technique go to youtube.com and search the song title there's a video of Nate
and you can see the strumming and chords etc!)

Its not straightforward strumming;
he plays a bass note and high note before each
strum then anotherhigh note straight after,
and this pattern is constant throughout the verses.

Enjoy!!

Intro C/F

Verse:

C F
We get out of this fight
F C
You gonna help me wrap my hands
C F
Stitching up my eyes
F C
You know blood can blind

C F
And them was big old boys
F C
Had fists like cinder and stone
C F
I dodge a blade on the dime
F C
And they was out to cut my throat

Chorus:

        E7 Am
It's a lot, It's a mark they're gonna press down on you
        E7 Am G
It's a haze on my head, must've been hit too hard, off guard

(G) F Am7 Dm
I think I'm gonna be it tonight
            F Am7 Dm
If there's one way out
          F Am7 Dm C
It's to swing my way through the crowd

Vocal Break C/F

Verse:

 C F
Is there a blanket of pain
F C
That I can wrap up in
C F
You've got a hold of me now
F C
Hey that's a helluva grip
C F
And I admit I was tanked
F C
And you could say I was pissing gin

Chorus

        E7 Am
It's hard to see even if I close my eyes
        E7 Am G
It's fifteen degrees I'm gonna sleep outside

(G) F Am7 Dm
Cos I got no way to feel
    F Am7 Dm
and no way to ride
    F Am7 Dm C
I'm busted laid up and dry

Good tab. I just got done learning this and then I saw it was already up. Though you did much better with the lyrics. I thought it was 'hell of a grin' and 'no way to write'. Yours makes much more sense. Have you learned 'Hanging Surrender' I'm close, it's actually pretty similar, but the lyrics are killing me.
