About this tab version
This is one of my favorite songs from Stuart Murdoch's project album, God Help the Girl. I transposed it and lowered the key, so that it is easier to sing with (Still quite hard though, but at least it's workable). Hope you like it. Was this info helpful? Yes No

Listen
[Verse 1]
             G C G G
They'd never met, the singer and the swinger
      Em D
She walked in, they walked around each other
 C G G
Fighting for the mirror and smiling

[Verse 2]
         Em Em
She was awkward
        D D
I was tongue tied
        C C
She was goofy

[Pre-Chorus]
           G C G G
And she aspired to perfection as a hipster
        Em
And she asked me,
     D G
("How should I wear my problem hair
   C G G
My dirty, no good problem hair?")

    Em Em
She asked me
  D D
I blew it
  B B
I knew it

[Chorus]
C D G
I always wonder how things could've been
                       B
(I wouldn't waste time dreaming about me)
C D
Spend every second day just
G B
Dreaming how the first one ought to be
C Am Em D C C
My dream was realised but I was sleeping
      Cm Cm
I was sleeping

[Verse 3]
             G C G G
I caught the girl, her eyelids started to flutter
          Em
And in my arms
    D G
She passed out cold, are you okay?
     C G
Just lie still, you'll feel better

[Verse 4]
     G
(What happened? I want to go home)
     Em
Feel better
Em
(Where am I, what have I got on?)
     D
Feel better
D
(You say that but how do you know?)
     B
Feel better
B
(Who are you, what do you want?)

[Chorus 2]
C D G
I always wonder how things could've been
                       B
(I wouldn't waste time dreaming about me)
C D
Spend every second day just
G B
Dreaming how the first one ought to be
C Am Em D C C
My dream was realised but I was sleeping
      Am Am
I was sleeping
      C C
I was sleeping
      Am Am
I was sleeping

[Outro]
C C Am Am C C Am Am C C
