My Heart Hurts - Nick Lowe Tabbed by: Jeff Linam email: firstname.lastname@example.org This is a great Nick Lowe song. I couldn't beleive it wasn't already posted here, so I had to figure it out for myself. Listen to the song for the strum pattern. I play this with open chords except for the last part of the chorus, where I use a barred A chord starting at the 7th fret, up through the 5th, 4th and ending at the 2nd. Intro/main chord progression: A E D D E A A E D E A Verse 1: -------- A E D I get it every day D E A I'm getting used to it A E D Now every time it hits E A My heart quits A E D I wear a little smile D E A While swallowing the dirt A E D But underneath my shirt E A My heart hurts (Intro chords) Verse 2: -------- A E D It's murder but it's nice D E A Getting away with it A E D The time you let it slip E A I liked it A E A My fingers and my thumbs D E A Overcome me with mirth A E D But underneath my shirt E A My heart hurts (strum A for 4 bars leading into chorus) Chorus: ------- D E A Lord, if you're lonely E D E A You Must be out of your mind E B E Lord, if you're lonely B E D C# B You must be out of your mi--i--i--ind Verse 3: -------- A E D I get it every day D E A I'm getting used to it A E D Now every time it hits E A My heart quits A E D Your taste is for the task D E D Your fondness is to flirt A E D But underneath my shirt E A My heart hurts (Intro chords) (Strum A 4 bars leading into chorus) (Chorus) (Repeat verse 1) Repeat main chord progression 4x to fade, with no lyrics except "My heart hurts" at the appropriate part at the end. I'm not entirely sure that the second half of the chorus is correct. May be missing a chord in there. Anyways, this is pretty close, if not 100%.
