OK This is the real version. This is more correct than any of the other versions
by tone deaf idiots. Bare in mind Cobain had a kind of sloppy playing style (part
of what grunge is all about) so try to put in a few incorrections when performing
for the full Nirvana effect. For the solo you'll want fuzz of some kind. You
could probably get it with a DS-2 or DS-1 or with a fuzz box (Big Muff maybe).
Cobain probably used his pro-co RAT for the solo though. Use a bridge humbucker
to get a good sound. A bit of chorus in the verse couldn't hurt, especially if
you can't get the right tone out of your guitar. Amp should be set with mids
RIGHT UP.

Note: Drop D tuning

Intro:
E-------------------------------------------------------------------------
B-------------------------------------------------------------------------
G-----2----------------------------------2------------------------------0-
D---2---2-----3----------0-----0-----2-2---2-----3------2/4-4---4----4--0-
A-0---------3---3-----0-----0---0----0---------3--------------0---3--3----
D---------3---------0------------------------3-----3--0-------------------
This is played ONCE only at the start

VERSE. It is played 4 times in each verse:
E-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
B-----2-----------------------------------------------------------------------
G-----2---------------------------------------2-------------------------------
D-2-2---2------3-----------0---------0------2---2------3-------2/4-4--4------0
A-0----------3---3-----0-3--------0--0----0----------3---3----------0---3-3--0
D----------3---------0----------0------------------3---------0----------------

On the 4th and last time in each verse, the part with the slide in the above riff
is played with distortion so that it moves into the distorted chorus.

CHORUS
E-----------------------------------------------------
B-----------------------------------------------------
G---------4b-(5)-------4b--(5)---------------4b-(5)---
D---2-2------------3-3---------------3---3------------
A---0-0------------3-3-----------0-0---0---3----------
D------------------3-3-----------0-0------------------

E------------------------------------------------------
B---------4b-(5)--------4b--(5)------------------------
G---------4b-(5)--------4b--(5)---------------4-5------
D---2-2------------3-3---------------4---3-------------
A---0-0------------3-3-----------0-0---0---3-----------
D------------------3-3-----------0-0-------------------

The above two bars are played three times then the below part is played once to
end the chorus:

E----------------------------------------------------------------------------
B----------------------------------------------------------------------------
G------------------------4b(5)---4b-(5)------------------------------------0-
D--3-3-3-3-3-3-3-3--0--0-------0--------0---3-3-3-3-3-3-3-3--0-0-0-0-0-----0-
A--3-3-3-3-3-3-3-3--0--0-------0--------0---3-3-3-3-3-3-3-3--0-0-0-0-0-3-3---
D--3-3-3-3-3-3-3-3--0--0-------0------------3-3-3-3-3-3-3-3--0-0-0-0-0-------
             "you advice"

SOLO (with fuzz)
E-------------------------------------------------------------------
B-------8b-(10)--(8)--6------6b-(8)-(6)------5b-(6)-(5)--3---1---0--
G-----------------------------------------3-------------------------
D---7---------------------5---------------3-------------------------
A-------------------------------------------------------------------
D-------------------------------------------------------------------

E-------------------------------------------------------------------
B-------8b-(10)--(8)---------6b-(8)-(6)------5b-(6)-(5)--3---1---0--
G-----------------------------------------3-------------------------
D---7---------------------5---------------3-------------------------
A-------------------------------------------------------------------
D-------------------------------------------------------------------

E-------------------------------------------------------------------
B-------------------------------------------------------------------
G--2-----------------------2------------------------------------------
D--2-----------------------2------------------------------------------
A--0-----------------------0------------------------------------------
D-------------------------------------------------------------------
On this last part, the A chord is struck twice. Turn the fuzz off just before
playing it the second time, and then go back to clean verse.

That's about it!
