Song: Lifetime
Artist: Noah and the Whale
Album: Heart of Nowhere

Tuning: Half step down (Eb Ab Db Gb Bb Eb) or (D# G# C# F# A# D#)

Intro: E C#m A

E C#m A E
We got high a thousand times in your brother’s room
E C#m A E
Talked about how we break free, guess it came too soon
A E
We grew up,
A E
drifted apart,
C#m
now you’re getting married
                         A E
While I’m waiting for my life to start.

E A E
Are you ready to make that call?
C#m A E
It’s gonna be a lifetime.
E A C#m A E
It was only a few years ago, but it feels like a lifetime.

Instrumental:
E A E
E A E
E C#m A

E C#m A E
The year your brother left home is mostly you and me
E C#m A E
We spend our whole summer there on his balcony.
A E A E
We were young, that was then
C#m A E
And I can’t help the feeling that is never coming back again.

E A E
Are you ready to make that call?
C#m A E
It’s gonna be a lifetime.
E A C#m A E
It was only a few years ago, but it feels like a lifetime.

E A E
Are you ready to make that call?
C#m A E
It’s gonna be a lifetime.
E A C#m A E B
It was only a few years ago, but it feels like a lifetime.

E A
And we used to dream of what was beyond these walls
E A
And we used to pray that one day we’ll see them fall
E A
And there’ll be nothing, nothing but time
E B E
And there’ll be nothing, nothing but time.

Outro: E A E

I think it sounds good & you don't have to re-tune your guitar if you transpose it up 4 half-steps and capo the 3rd fret

I think that there should be a C chord in the chorus when the word ago is sung:

C F C
Are you ready to make that call?
Am F C
It’s gonna be a lifetime.
C F C Am F C
It was only a few years ago, but it feels like a lifetime.
