INTRO:

A - - - | A - - - | D - - - | D - A - |

A - - - | E - - - | E - - - | A - - - ||

A
Hush up, honey, don’t you cry
D                                         A
Things are gonna get better in the by-and-by
                              E
And there ain’t a thing for a poor man
        A
In this world

A
Work through the winter, work through the spring
     D                                             A
Yeah plant my corn and taters and then it wouldn't rain
                              E
And there ain’t a thing for a poor man
        A
In this world

VIOLIN SOLO

A - - - | A - - - | D - - - | D - A - |

A - - - | E - - - | E - - - | A - - - ||

A
Now I got down on my knees

Lord I thought I’d pray
D
Along come a great big flood
                  A
Washed everything away
                              E
And there ain’t a thing for a poor man
        A
In this world

A
Work through the winter, Lord, work through this fall
D                                         A
All I got for Christmas was a pair of overalls
                              E
And there ain’t a thing for a poor man
        A
In this world

VIOLIN SOLO

A - - - | A - - - | D - - - | D - A - |

A - - - | E - - - | E - - - | A - - - ||

A
Well I got down on my knees

Looked up to the sky
D                                          A
All I can think of is to ask the good Lord why
                              E
And there ain’t a thing for a poor man
         E
In this world

A
Well hush up, honey, Lord don’t get down
D                                  A
You know that I love you every way around
                              E
And there ain’t a thing for a poor man
        A
In this world

VIOLIN SOLO

A - - - | A - - - | D - - - | D - A - ||

A                             E
And there ain’t a thing for a poor man
N/C     A
In this world

FINAL CHORD: A

Play with pity for the poor man.
Enjoy!
Peace, Lukewa

Try a capo on the 2nd fret, transpose to key of G. Your way works, but I think that's what OCMS does. Nice tab!
