Intro--- D

[D]Hang me, oh, hang me, [G]I'll be dead and [D]gone
Hang me, oh, [Bm]hang me, [G]I'll be dead and [D]gone
I wouldn't mind the [Bm]hangin'
But, the [D]layin' in the grave so [Bm]long, poor boy
I been [Bb]all a[A]round this [D]world

[D]I been all around Cape Jerdo, [G]parts of Arkan[D]sas
I been all around Cape [Bm]Jerdo, [G]parts of Arkan[D]sas
I got so goddamned [Bm]hungry
I could [D]hide behind a [Bm]straw, poor boy
I been [Bb]all a[A]round this [D]world

[D]Went up on a mountain, [G]there I made my [D]stand
Went up on a [Bm]mountain, [G]there I made my [D]stand
A rifle on my [Bm]shoulder
And a [D]dagger in my [Bm]hand, poor boy
I been [Bb]all a[A]round this [D]world

[D]So, hang me, oh, hang me, [G]I'll be dead and [D]gone
Hang me, oh, [Bm]hang me and [G]I'll be dead and [D]gone
I wouldn't mind the [Bm]hangin'
But, the [D]layin' in the grave so [Bm]long, poor boy
I been [Bb]all a[A]round this [D]world

[D]Put the rope around my neck, they [G]hung me up so [D]high
Put the rope a[Bm]round my neck and [G]hung me up so [D]high
The last words I [Bm]heard 'em say
Won't be [D]long now 'fore ya [Bm]die, poor boy
I been [Bb]all a[A]round this [D]world

[D]So, hang me, oh, hang me, [G]I'll be dead and [D]gone
Hang me, oh, [Bm]hang me and [G]I'll be dead and [D]gone
I wouldn't mind the [Bm]hangin'
But, the [D]layin' in the grave so [Bm]long, poor boy
I been [Bb]all a[A]round this [D]world

In the movie he plays this with a capo on 2. So if you want to play it how he does in the movie, throw a capo on 2 and transpose this down one full step (two half steps).

Yes, I like to play it with a capo on the 2nd fret too. Sounds good either way, but I think the chord changes are a bit easier with the capo.

For capo 2 your finger positions change (D to C), (G to F), (Bm to Am), (Bb to Ab) and (A to G).
