[Verse]

G B
Sittin' in the morning sun
        C C B Bb A
I'll be sittin' in the evening come
G B
Watching the ships roll in,
       C C B Bb A
then I watch them roll away again, yeah

[Chorus]

    G E
I'm sittin' on the dock of the bay
             G E
watching the tide roll away
             G A
ooh I'm just sittin' on the dock of the bay
        G E
wasting ti---ime

[Verse]

G B
I left my home in Georgia
C C B Bb A
Headed for the Frisco bay
G B
'Cause I've had nothing to live for
    C C B Bb A
and look like nothing's gonna come my way

[Chorus]

    G E
I'm sittin' on the dock of the bay
             G E
watching the tide roll away
             G A
ooh I'm just sittin' on the dock of the bay
        G E
wasting ti---ime

[Bridge]

G D C2
  Look like nothing's gonna change
G D C2
       Everything still remains the same
G D C2 G
I can't do what ten people tell me to do
F D
So I guess I'll remain the same

[Verse]

G B
Sittin' here resting my bones
C C B Bb A
and this loneliness won't leave me alone
G B
These 2000 miles I roamed
        C C B Bb A
just to make this dock my home

[Chorus]

    G E
I'm sittin' on the dock of the bay
             G E
watching the tide roll away
             G A
ooh I'm just sittin' on the dock of the bay
        G E
wasting ti---ime

[Outro]

G E
G E

(whistle over these two chords and fade out)

Great job, chorus needs fixin' though.

What I use is: G, B7 (Or B), C, A for the first two lines of the chorus. I think it sounds better :)

Buen trabajo, John, nice job. I play bass in a group in Sevilla (Andalucía - SPAIN) and we perform "The Dock of the Bay" in C, instead of G, because our singer is a woman and she likes singing in that musical note. I like quite a lot your work. In my opinion, it's perfect. Congratulations.

The E's should be minor. U can tell because of the fact that he whistles the minor pentatonic scale and the first e major in the chorus is a Bm or B not to sure
