[Verse 1]

C G Am C
Listen children to a story that was written long ago
F C F G
'Bout a kingdom on a mountain, and the valley folk below
C G Am C
On the mountain was a treasure buried deep beneath a stone
F C F G C C F C
And the valley people swore they'd have it for their very own.

[Chorus]
C Em F C
Go ahead and hate your neighbor, go ahead and cheat a friend
C Em F C
Do it in the name of heaven, you can justify it in the end
C Em F C
There won't be any trumpets blowing, come the judgment day
No Chord C G F G C C F C
On the bloody morning after - one tin soldier rides away.

[Verse 2]

C G Am C
So the people of the valley sent a message up the hill
F C F G
Asking for the buried treasure, tons of gold for which they'd kill
C G Am C
Came an answer from the kingdom: “With our brothers we will share
F C F G C C F C
All the secrets of our mountain, all the riches buried there.”

[Chorus]

[Verse 3]

C G Am C
Now the valley cried with anger, mount your horses, draw your sword!
F C F C G
And they killed the mountain people, sure they’d won their just reward
C G Am C
Now they stood beside the treasure on the mountain dark and red
F C
Turned the stone and looked beneath it -
F G C C F C
"Peace on Earth" was all it said.

[Chorus]

Verse 2 line 3 needs an Em as the last chord. And don't get a "didn't like this contribution" comment without elaboration. FWIW, I do like it. Thanks.

im pretty certain this is incorrect.

i believe the chorus has the same progression as the verses. and they should all be

C G Am Em
F C F G
C G Am Em
F C F G C
