Subject: CRD: old_town.crd by Phil Lynott

Song: Old town
Written and performed by: Phil Lynott
Track on: The Philip Lynott Album

Transcribed by Jose Kooyman (koolus@xs4all.nl)

This song by Thin Lizzy's frontman Phil Lynott is from his first solo
album. Although the song consists mainly of keyboards, drums and bass
guitar, it sounds very well on just an acoustic guitar.
These are the chords (and two little riffs) I use:

C: x-3-2-0-1-0----------------------------------------------------|
Cmaj7: x-3-2-0-0-0------------------------------------------------|
Am7: x-0-2-0-1-0 (sometimes during the verse I play: x-0-2-0-1-3)-|
Am7/G: 3-0-2-0-1-0------------------------------------------------|
F: 1-3-3-2-1-1----------------------------------------------------|
Dm: x-x-0-2-3-1---------------------------------------------------|
G7: 3-2-0-0-0-1---------------------------------------------------|
Am: x-0-2-2-1-0---------------------------------------------------|
E: 0-2-2-1-0-0----------------------------------------------------|
Am2: x-0-2-2-0-0--------------------------------------------------|
X: 0-3-3-2-0-0----------------------------------------------------| (I don't know the name of this chord)

Hard to hear Lynott sing it [his nasal style with his accent loses it up his sinuses I think :) ], but verse 1 part 2 lyrics should read:
'....She's lost his trust, and so she must KNOW all is lost....'.

I think the chord where you have the "X" is a Bdim. There's a couple of other places in the song where that should be a Bdim as well, like the last Dm in the verses and the Dm before the E in the choruses is all that x2343x Bdim thing. I would also bet the 1st chord in the chorus is a Dm instead of F.

the '0-3-3-2-0-0' chord is a kind of Fmaj7 but with a 6th in. Bowie uses it at the start of Space Oddity, for example.
