This is the song as played on the album Ascension. There are other chords on here,
but this is the version with updated lyrics and chords. The Album recorded key is
C#, but the Acoustic Album recorded key is D. Phil plays it using E shapes with
the guitar turned one whole step down to D (in the acoustic album).

Carry My Soul
Phil Wickham

[Intro]

E - C#m - B | E - E/G# - A

[Verse 1]

                    E
I want to hear you say well done
              A
I want to be welcomed in
                     C#m B A
I want to feel Your love like sunshine on my resurrected skin.

                   E
I want to hear the music play
                    A
I want to hear the trumpet sound
                   C#m B A
I want to hear You call my name, and watch my feet lift off the ground

[Chorus]

          E C#m B E E/G# A
So I will run Ooh and I won't quit.
             E C#m B E E/G# A
Chasing your heart, just like David did
               E
And I'll come running through the gates
E/G# A
Look into your face, oh I can hardly wait
          C#m B A
Until You carry my soul, carry my soul away
          C#m B A
Until You carry my soul, carry my soul away, oh oh oh

-Intro Chords-

[Verse 2]

                   E
When everything is said and done
              A
And death has met its end
                    C#m B A
I want to hear You call me son, be counted as Your faithful friend
                    E
I want to see Your eyes like fire
                   B/D#
I want to see the scars that bled
              C#m B A
Oh, won't You take me higher, the place where angels fear to tread

[Chorus]

          E C#m B E E/G# A
So I will run! Ooh and I won't quit.
             E C#m B E E/G# A
Chasing your heart, just like David did
               E
And I'll come running through the gates
E/G# A
Look into your face, oh I can hardly wait
          C#m B A
Until You carry my soul, carry my soul away

[Bridge]

            A E B
And I will keep my lamplight burning in the night
            A E B C#m B
And I’ll be waiting here for You, watching for all Your signs.
         A E B B/C C#m E/G# A
If I may be so bold to ask You, would You lend Your ear to me, oh Lord
     B
Come quickly,

[Instrumental]

E - C#m - B | E - E/G# - A

[Chorus]

          E C#m B E E/G# A
So I will run! Ooh and I won't quit.
             E C#m B E E/G# A
Chasing your heart, just like David did
               E
And I'll come running through the gates
E/G# A
Look into your face, oh I can hardly wait
          C#m B A
Until You carry my soul, carry my soul away

If you will capo to the 6th fret and go with G shapes, make C into Csus2, D into D/F#, some of the Em should be G/B, you gotta do the oh, oh, oh's using the intro chords, It sounds great and its easier to play too!
