Phosphorescent
“Wolves”

Capo 6.

Relative to capo.

[Intro]

G

[Verse 1]

Am C G
Mama there’s wolves in the house
Mama they won’t let me out
Mama they’re mating at night
Mama they won’t make nice

They’re pacing and glowing bright
Their faces all snowy and white
Bury their paws in the stone
And make for my heart as their home

[Chorus]

Em D C
They tumble and fight, and they’re beautiful
On the hilltops at night, they are beautiful
Blazing with light, is the whitest and the tallest and the biggest one
She’s muscled and fine, when she runs

[Intro]

G

[Verse 2]

Am C G
They’re tearing up holes in the house
They’re tearing their claws in the ground
They’re staring with blood in their mouths
Mama they won’t let me out

[Chorus]

Am C G
Mama there’s wolves in the house
Mama I tried to put them out
And mama I know you’re too wise
To wait ‘til those wolves make nice

I was at phosphorescent's show last night and I saw him playing this without a capo. Do you have any idea how that would be played instead?

@ReusableCatMilk -
First things first- I love your username.

I've watched some videos of him playing the song live-

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0PlAivIYzJE

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qBM5TQKGJO8

- and i've realized that he plays the song live differently than the recorded version. since i live left-center of nowhere, i've had no opportunity to see him play. my determination is that he tunes his guitar up one half step, and has a piano accompaniment to make it sound deeper. relative to the tuning, the G in which i've transcribed is played as a C (with a held G on the low E string for effect.) the C is played as an F. and the the Am is played as a Dm, but this is where things get ambiguous. I want to say that the chord is just (x 5 x 0 3 3) or a simple chord, but I am having trouble with figuring out the live translation of his detuned Dm chord shape. if you figure out exactly what he's playing, then please let me know. otherwise, i will keep playing the light ukelele sounding version that the original recording suggests.

the chorus in this tuning would be Am, G, and F.
