Queens of the Stone Age - I sat by the Ocean (acoustic version)

[Intro]

C / Am / D / E

[Verse 1]

E E/F# G D E
I sat by the ocean and drank a potion, baby to erase you.
C Am E
Face down in the Boulevard, yet I couldn't face you.
E E/F# G D
There ain't no use in crying. It doesn't change anything,
              E
So baby what good does it do?
C Am
     Your friends, they all sympathize.
            E
Maybe, I don't need them too.

[Chorus]

  C E
Imagine I'd be your one and only
  C E
Instead I'm the lonely one

C D E
You, me and a lie.
Am D E C
Silence is closer. We're passing ships in the night.

[Verse 2]

E
    There's nowhere to run away.
E/F# G Said, D E
“Boy if you want love, you'll have to go and find it with someone new.”
    C Am E
“Do you know who you really are? Are you sure it's really you?”
E
       Lies are a funny thing.
E/F# G D E
They slip through your fingertips because they never happened to you.
    C Am E
Time wounds all the heals as we fade out of view.

[Chorus]

C E
Imagine I'd be your one and only
C E
Instead I'm the lonely one

C D E
You, me and a lie. |
Am D E C | x2
Silence is closer. We're passing ships in the night. |

[Bridge]

E C
Into the night,
E C
Left with nowhere to hide.

[Instrumental]

C / Am / D / E x2

[Outro]

Am D
Closer and closer.
        E C
We're crashing ships in the night

C / Am / D / E x2 (end on E)

In order for it to sound correct with the acoustic recording, you have to transpose the song so that the first chord is a G#. Also, the amount of times you play each part is slightly off. It's a good basis for learning the song though. Just listen to see if it sounds correct with the recording.

Playing this acoustically is very tough, but this doesn't seem right. A number of the chords are not standard. Just watch and listen to Troy. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4E4S0XWPMgQ

Sounds pretty good if you use these chords with a capo on 4.
