(tabbed by SkodaATOM)

Tuning: 1 step down (D-G-C-F-A-d)

I've been watching a YouTube video of Ray playing so I figured I'd tab it out. I
initially figure out why my chords weren't sounding right until I downtuned and found out the
Quite an easy song and very beautiful IMO. Enjoy and rate, please!

[Verse 1]
                                 C
There's just something about this hotel
                     F
Got me wishing I was dead
                          G
Gotta get outta New York City, son
                         C
Somewhere I can clear my head

                             C
I was just kicking along the sidewalk
                                     F
Don't wanna look you straight in the eyes
                               G
Don't wanna ask you how you?re doing
                          C
Don't seem to care if you live or if you die

[Chorus]
                  F
Just gotta get me somewhere
                          C
Somewhere that I can feel free
                         G
Gotta get outta New York city, boy
                        C
New York City's killing me.

[Interlude] F C G C

[Verse 2] (same progression as Verse 1)
Just outside of Nashville
I met the woman of my dreams
Sure would like to get to know her
Maybe find out what it means

Get so tired of all this country
Get so tired of all this noise
Gotta get back up in my country
Have a couple drinks with the good ol' boys

[Chorus]
                  F
Just gotta get me somewhere
                          C
Somewhere that I can feel free
                         G
Gotta get outta New York city, boy
                        C
New York City's killing me.

[Interlude] F C G C

[Chorus]
                  F
Just gotta get me somewhere
                          C
Somewhere that I can feel free
                         G
Gotta get outta New York city, boy
                        C
New York City's killing me.

Some of the lyrics are wrong... Don't wanna look you straight in the eyes should be "no one looks" and so on....

Cool! Thnx for putting this up! What a great album. Ya the lyric I always thought it was also 'no one looks you in the eyes, no one ..... ' etc as said above. Also I think in the last verse he says 'get so tired of all this concrete' , not repeating country twice. Cheers!
