[Intro]

C Csus C Csus (Pluck strings in this order: A, D, G, B, G, D, A and repeat)

    C E
And every time, that I feel afraid
 Am G Fm
Afraid of what I'll say
   C E Am
I towed the line and now I'm alone -
           F G
It doesn't mean I don't belong
             Am
It's hard to believe you
         G
when you say
           Am
I'll never leave you
           G
I could be wrong,
                F Fm C
but it's been a long, lonely night -
    C
And any time
                E
That I feel the pain,
Am G F
Out in the pouring rain
    C
You told a lie
            E Am F G
and now I'm alone - I couldn't see when I was wrong
             Am
It's hard to believe you
         G
when you say
           Am
I'll never leave you
           G
I could be wrong,
                F Fm C
but it's been a long, lonely night -
    C E
And any time, that I feel afraid
Am G C
Afraid of what you'll say

The intro should have you picking the a,d,g,b,g,d strings on the C chord.(E chords sounds it a bit off when you're playing the intro. Trust me it sounds A LOT better when the E chord just HITS you!)
