I noticed that someone had put up a tab for this song for the acoustic guitar finger picking
but the bass/root note part was incorrect. I have spoken with Hugh McDonald, the guitarist from
Redgum and he showed me that there has to be alternating bass notes with the thumb while the
fingers do the rest.

A C G D
e|-------0-------0-------0-------0-------3-------3-------2-------2-|
B|---2-------2-------1-------1-------0-------0-------3-------3-----|
G|-----2-------2-------0-------0-------0-------0-------2---2---2---|
D|---------2---------------2---------------0-------0---------------|
A|-0---------------3-----------------------------------------------|
E|---------------------------------3-------------------------------|

   A G
e|-------0-------------3-------3-|
B|---2-------2-----0-------0-----|
G|-----2-------2-----0-------0---|
D|---------2-------------0-------|
A|-0-----------------------------|
E|---------------3---------------|

   A
e|-------0-------|
B|---2-------2---|
G|-----2-------2-|
D|---------2-----|
A|-0-------------|
E|---------------|

  A
e|-------0-------|
B|---2-------2---|
G|-----2-------2-|
D|---------2-----|
A|-0-------------|
E|---------------|

And that's basically the pattern. The chorus is the same, hit the alternating bass notes
with your thumb. The chorus chords are E, D, A, E, D, A, F#m, E, D, A, E, D.

I thing the original was recorded without a capo but a more recent version by John Schumann
and the Vagabond crew had a capo on the 3rd fret.
