D
i had one friend in high school recently he hung himself with string

his note said,

G D
"If livin' is the problem, well, that's just baffling."

D
and at the wake i waited around to see my ex first love

G D
and i barely recognized her, but i knew exactly what she was thinking of

A G D
we sat quietly in the corner whispering close about loss

A G D
and i remembered why i loved her, and i asked her why i drove her off

          G A D
she said, "the slow fade of love

    G A D
its soft edge might cut you

G F#m7
and our poor friend, jim,

      D A G
well, he just lived within

G A D
the slow fade of love"

D
a woman calls my house once a week she's always selling things

G D
some charity, a phone plan, a subscription to a magazine

       A G D
and as i turned her down, i always do, there is something trembling in her voice
         A G D
i said, "hey what troubles you?" she said "i'm suprised you noticed"

D
"well my husband, he's leaving, and i can't convince him to stay

          G D
and he'll take our daughter with him she wants to go with him anyway

    A G D
i'm sorry i'm hard to live with, living is the problem for me

A G D
i'm selling people things they don't want when i don't know what you need"

         G A D
he said "the slow fade of love

     G A D
it's mist might choke you

       G F#m7
its my gradual decent

       D A G
into a life i never meant

        G A D
its the slow fade of love"

(instrumental interlude for about 30/25 seconds)

i found myself staring at the closed up door like the day she threw me out

D (start strumming normally again)

       G D

nice tab, good job!
but what is the F#m7 chord? I've tried a couple of different variations but it sounds wrong

I've watched videos of the guy play it and this is definitely not how he does it. It sounds good, but does anyone know where another version of this tab might be?
