Release the Stars by Rufus Wainwright

!!Capo on First Fret!!

G Am7 G
Why do you keep all your stars in
           Am7 Cm G
From your studio on Melrose Avenue?
          Am7 G
You have locked all your assets up
   Am7 Cm G
In lifelong contracts to you.
            A7 G B7 Em B7
Didn't you know that old Hollywood is over?

G Am7 G
Oh, can't you see all the good that
   Am7 Cm G
Celebrity can do for those in the dark?
       Am7 G
Yes of course, I am speaking in
    Am7 Cm G
Metaphor for something more in your heart.
            A7 G B7 Em B7
Didn't you know that old Hollywood is over?

                 G C
So why not just release the gates and let them all come out?
                  G C
Remember that without them there would be no Paramount
             Em Em(maj7) Em7 A7 Cm
No paramount need to ho-o-old on to what isn't yours
            G Cm G Am7
Release the stars

    G C G
The more that you fight, then the more they will
 C Cm G
Scrutinize and realize just your size.
    C G
And believe me, you are no match
        C Cm G
For the public that has seen the whites of your eyes
           A7 G B7 Em B7
Didn't you know that old Hollywood is over?
F B7 Em B7
Old Hollywood is over

                G Am7
So why not just release the gates and let them all come out?
                  G Bm
Remember that without them there would be no Paramount
             Em Em(maj7) Em7 A7 Cm
No paramount need to ho-o-o-ld on to what isn't yours
            G Cm
Release the stars

             Em Em(maj7)
Release the stars...
             Em Em(maj7)
Release your love...
             Em Em(maj7)
Release the stars....
             Em Em(maj7)
Release your love,
             Em(maj7) Em
'Cause Hollywood is over

            Cm G
Why do you keep all your stars in

Great tab. I love Rufus too. Thanks!
Any chance you could tab Rules and Regulations?

I found a tab of Rules & Regs on this thread from Rufus's fan forums:

Lots of good stuff on there!

hmm the chords are pretty many places and you need the great final where there are a couple of different chords. Like, the intro-chords are actually | G | C/G | G7 | C/G Cm/G |
And I'd think you should submit the chords in the correct key as well so that other guitarists can use this tab
