About this tab version
The song is in the Key of "C". And in most times, the pinky finger is pressing the 3rd fret of the high "e" string, and the pointing finger pressing on the 1st fret of the "B" string. One way to add style in the song, as Doyle also does, is doing an "Fsus2" after the "F" chord by... written below. But then again, play with the style you feel that can fit in the song by doing different chord variations. Was this info helpful? Yes No

Too Far Gone (To Be Saved)
Russell Crowe/Alan Doyle
The Crowe/Doyle Songbook, Vol. III

[Intro]
C Em F G (2x)

[Verse 1]
     C
I am drowning, not waving
Em
here in the darkness
F G
I'll find my peace

C
You'll try to save me
    Em
but you are suspended
  F G
Beneath the surface in way too deep

[Chorus]
         Am G C
And your fingers tear at my skin
  F G
Release the blood let the feeding begin
       Am G C
Your intentions will never be blamed
      F G C
We're both too far gone, to be saved
        Em F G

[Verse 2]
     C
When times were simple
Em
And the journey clearer
  F G
Before the circles and deja vu

  C
Before all the bombs fell
    Em
And we lived in craters
  F G
Before all the sharks came and had their fill

[Chorus]
         Am G C
And your fingers tear at my skin
  F G
Release the blood let the feeding begin
       Am G C
Your intentions will never be blamed
      F G C Em
We're both too far gone, to be saved
      F G C Em
We're both too far gone, to be saved
      F G

[Instrumental]
Dm Am Dm G (2x)

[Bridge]
Am
I should have spared you
    G
And you might have warned me
    F G G/G#
The glory is fleeting for birds in flight

Am
Now I'm sinking
        G
weighed down by regrets
F G
I see clearly in this dying light

[Verse 3]
     C
I am drowning, not waving
Em
Will you just love me
F G
It's not too late

C
Here in the darkness
Em
No-one can judge us
F G
Kiss me completely and seal our fate

[Chorus]
         Am G C
And your fingers tear at my skin
  F G
Release the blood let the feeding begin
       Am G C
Your intentions will never be blamed
      F G C Em
We're both too far gone, to be saved
      F G C Em
We're both too far gone, to be saved
      F G C
We're both too far gone, to be saved
