LIFE IN THE PAIN - Safetysuit
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tabbed by: Owen
Email: sypower94@live.ca

Tuning: Standard

Chords Used:

       EADGBe
C#7* |x46600|
B9* |x24400|
E |079900| OR |022100|
A9* |x02200|

I'm pretty sure that SafetySuit uses the first E chord |079900| that is shown, but
when I was first figuring out the song I thought it was the |022100|. In fact, I
bet they use both at some point. But honestly, I still like the way |022100|
sounds, and that's the way I play it. You can use whichever you makes you happy :)

(note: if you like using the |079900| E, then you can try playing A9 like this
to make the chorus easier: |577x00| sounds exactly the same)

(note for reading this tab: I put all the fancy names for the different chords,
but all you really need to pay attention to is the first letter; that tells you
where to put your hand. The rest is just technical mumbo-jumbo)

Listen to song for strum pattern, it's pretty straightforward

INTRO: | C#* B9* E  E  :||   (played 4x on the guitar on the album)

-VERSE 1-

  C#7* B9* E
Now you don't have a purpose

  C#7* B9* E
        You don't let anybody in

  C#7* B9* E
You don't understand why she don't love you

  C#7* B9* E
        But you don't understand yourself

  C#7* B9* E
Now you're out there with no target

  C#7* B9* E
So your friends become your aim

  C#7* B9* E
But there is no one left around you

  C#7* B9* E
So there is no one left to blame

-CHORUS-

          A9* E
And what you don't know, it won't hurt you

          A9* E
And what you don't know will save you from some pain

        C#7* B9* E
But if I could choose, oh, I'd let it hurt you

               C#7* B9* E
Cause there's something 'bout life in the pain

-VERSE 2-

  C#7* B9* E
Now there's something inside you stirring

  C#7* B9* E
Like there's a fight coming your way

  C#7* B9* E
But there'll be no fists you'll be throwing

  C#7* B9* E
Just some words you've got to say

  C#7* B9* E
And you'll scream for our repentance

  C#7* B9* E
Or you'll hide behind what's fake

  C#7* B9* E
But there ain't nothing to forgiveness

  C#7* B9* E
You give as freely as you take

-CHORUS-

          A9* E
And what you don't know, it won't hurt you

          A9* E
And what you don't know will save you from some pain

        C#7* B9* E
But if I could choose, oh, I'd let it hurt you

               C#7* B9* E
Cause there's something 'bout life in the pain

-BRIDGE-

  A9* C#7* B9*
And I don't need to know your stories

  A9* C#7* B9*
Don't need to understand your pain

  A9* C#7* B9*
Cause I've been here since the beginning

  A9* C#7* B9*
And I'll be here the rest of the way

  A9* C#7* B9*
And I'll be here the rest of the way

-VERSE 3-

  C#7* B9* E
Now you've tried your hand at running

  C#7* B9* E
Why don't you try your hand at faith?

  C#7* B9* E
Cause there's a moment to be taken

  C#7* B9* E (hold E extra long here)
But it is right before you break

-CHORUS-

          A9* E
And what you don't know, it won't hurt you

          A9* E
And what you don't know will save you from some pain

        C#7* B9* E
But if I could choose, oh, I'd let it hurt you

               C#7* B9* E
Cause there's something 'bout life in the pain

               C#7* B9* E
Cause there's something 'bout life in the pain

               C#7* B9* E
Cause there's something 'bout life..... in the pain
