Instead of a C/E, how about a C#Maj7? Your chords sound great!

C#maj7 = C# E# G# B# so transposed to fit the key of C with the Capo on 1st fret, would be C E G B. I don't hear a B in the main part of this progression, just the repeated notes G and C. For the purposes of an acoustic guitar arrangement of this piano driven song, I put the E in C/E as the low E string. We're definitely hearing the same grouping of the notes G and C while the bass note changes from A to E to F to C and a B passing tone under the G major triad back to A again. Technically it should be an Fsus2 in place of F but I thought that THAT sounded more complex than necessary to carry the progression and sacrificed the F G C of Fsus2 for the smoothness and simplicity that F gives.

Thanks for the nice words
