again, i was looking for sarah harmer tabs and there seemed to be only one version of
dogs and thunder..this version sucked so badly that i’ve decided to give it a try myself..
i think it’s pretty close so check it out..

--------------------------------------

Standard Tuning: EADGBe
Capo: 2nd Fret

Chords: (written as used without capo)

  C* C G F
e|-0----|--0---|--0---|--2---|
B|-0----|--2---|--0---|--3---|
G|-2----|--2---|--1---|--2---|
D|-2----|--2---|--2---|--0---|
A|-0----|--0---|--2---|--0---|
E|-0----|--0---|--0---|--0(2)|

The A* and the A chord are slightly
different from eachother. From the
a-chord, the second fret of the
b-string should be hammered on while
strumming between these two chords.

Variate a bit with the D-chord every
now and then at the end of each sentence.

Intro:

C* C G F x2

Verse:

  C* C G F
A rife sits behind her sleeping ear

C* C G F
Echo on the cold wall, closest neighbour couldn’t hear

   C* G G F
We dug a hole in the fall____

              C* G F (single strums)
So now it’s a frozen burial

          G F | | ( C* C G F ) x2
And she’s gone__, just before the new year

         C* C G F
Well i’m gonna build a cross for her spot between the trees

    C* C G F
And stick it in firm so it won’t sway in the breeze

C* G F (single strums)
You and i have trouble making up our half-assed minds

               C* G | F
But she’d seen sixteen years__ of our kind

G F | | ( C* C G F ) x2
What’s it like___|, when your memories start to freeze

G C* F C
Oh__and i wonder__

        G C* F C*
What it is about dogs and thunder__

G C* G C* F
What they hear, coming over the field___

G C* F C*
Back hall shelter, warm nights in summer

G C* F C*
Shaking the ground that you lie under

       G C*
Well i know you’re not here

       G C* F ( C* C G F ) x2
But at least you don’t feel it anymore__

      F
And i came to see you, on the day that it happened

              C* G F (single strums)
You said “Hey sorry Sar, but i gotta go”

          F
And i was trying to read, some sort of reaction

C* G F (single strums)
Something you just can’t show

     F
So i guess it’s time i go

 C* C G F
Across the snowy barnyard, just pas the driving shed

C* C G F
Shadow of me in the moon, well i was in the movie in my head

     C* G F
This pile of dirt on the ground

     C* G F (single strums)
Will sink when nobody’s around

G F | | C* C G F
Winter covers everything, but everything’s not dead

G C* F C
Oh__and i wonder__

        G C* F C*
What it is about dogs and thunder__

G C* G C* F
What they hear, coming over the field___

G C* F C*
Back hall shelter, warm nights in summer

G C* F C*
Shaking the ground that you lie under

E A* (play this last part 3 times)
Well i know you’re not here

       G C* F
But at least you don’t feel it anymore__

Outro:

C* C G F x4
