Needles and Pins - The Searchers

[Intro] A Asus2 A Asus4 A Asus2 A 2x

[Verse 1]

A
I saw her today, I saw her face
                  F#m
It was the face I loved, and I knew
               A F#m
I had to run away and get down on my knees and pray
                                       A Asus2 A Asus4 A Asus2 A
That they'd go away, but still they begin
             F#m
Needles and pins
                   D E
Because of all my pride, the tears I've gotta hide

[Verse 2]

                       A
Hey, I thought I was smart, I wanted her
                  F#m
Didn't think I'd do, but now I see
                        A
She's worse to him than me
                                  F#m
Let her go ahead, take his love instead
                                         A Asus2 A Asus4 A Asus2 A
And on day she will see just how to say please
                      F#m
And get down on her knees
                       D
Yeah, that's how it begins
                               E
She'll feel those needles and pins hurtin' her, hurtin' her

[Bridge]

E Eb D Db
Db B
Why can't I stop and tell myself I'm wrong, I'm wrong, so wrong?
A Ab
Why can't I stand up and tell myself I'm strong?

[Verse 3]

                  Db Dbsus2 Db Dbsus4 Db Dbsus2 Db
Because I saw her today, I saw her face
                  Bbm
It was the face I loved, and I knew
              Db Bbm
I had to run away and get down on my knees and pray
                                      Db Dbsus2 Db Dbsus4 Db Dbsus2 Db
That they'd go away, but still they begin
            Bbm
Needles and pins
                   Gb Ab
Because of all my pride, the tears I've gotta hide
                 Db Dbsus2 Db Dbsus4 Db Dbsus2 Db
Oh, needles and pins
              Db Dbsus2 Db Dbsus4 Db Dbsus2 Db
Needles and pins
              Db Dbsus2 Db Dbsus4 Db Dbsus2 Db Dbsus2 Db
Needles and pins

End on C#

First of all let me say wow, a lot of effort was put into this song. I've only worked with the first half, but so far I love the chords. I have a few suggestions, after listening to the original song, I think the intro. should be A 4 beats Asus4 3 beats Asus2 3 beats A followed by A 4 beats Asus4 3 beats and then into the lyrics. Also at the end of the lyrics where you have a series of chords (A Asus2 A Asus4 A Asus2 A) I find that when singing it works out as just A 4 beats Asus4 3 beats. Also I have one correction on the lyrics, instead of Hey, I thought I was smart "I wanted her" it should be "I won her heart". Thanks for all the time you put in, I'll check back when I'm through the entire song.

Well, I'm back. I finally had a chance to work on the second part of the song. This has been quite a learning experience. The challenge has been working with so many unfamiliar chords and finding the combinations that work best together to play smoothly. As in the first part of the song, when I come to a verse that you play a series of chords at the end I use (Db 4 beats Dbsus4 3 beats) and then back to singing. I haven't been working on this song very long, but I'm starting to get it worked out. I encourage anyone who wants a bit of a challenge to try it !! You will definitely learn something along the way. Once again I want to thank the person who submitted this song, for their effort.
